This included wins over tenth-ranked Baylor and a defeat over Georgia Tech to avenge the previous loss.

As the second seed in the ACC tournament, they earned a bye to the Quarterfinals where they were upset by in-state rival and tenth-seed NC State.

They received an at-large bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament where they were the 4th seed in the South Region.

Duke then faced the number one seed, Houston, whom they defeated 54–51, advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time under head coach Jon Scheyer.
