[2] This season was the first full-season without longtime goaltender and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Jonathan Quick, who was traded on March 1, 2023, to the Columbus Blue Jackets;[3] the Blue Jackets traded Quick to the Vegas Golden Knights the following day.

[4] For the first time since the 2016–17 season, Anze Kopitar did not finish as the team's leading scorer in either goals or points, in addition to not leading in assists since his rookie season in 2006–07.

[6] On April 11, the Kings clinched a playoff berth for the third consecutive season after a 4–1 win against the Calgary Flames.

[7] In the playoffs, the Kings were eliminated by the Edmonton Oilers for the third consecutive year, losing in five games.
