The Colonels, led by first-year head coach Justin Payne, played their home games at Stopher Gym located in Thibodaux, Louisiana as members of the Southland Conference.

Their season ended with a 57–75 second-round loss to Southeastern Louisiana in the SLC tournament.

They failed to qualify for the 2023 Southland Conference women's basketball tournament.
