The 2023–24 Southeastern Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October followed by the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, which started November 6, 2023.

Conference began on January 6, 2024, and will end in March, after which 14 member teams will participate in the 2024 SEC men's basketball tournament at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Before the season, it was announced that for the seventh consecutive season, all regular-season conference games and conference tournament games would be broadcast nationally by ESPN Inc. family of networks including ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and the SEC Network.
