The Badgers, led by ninth-year head coach Greg Gard, played their home games at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin as members of the Big Ten Conference.

They qualified for the March Madness tournament after a one-year absence, but lost to James Madison University in the first round.

They defeated Maryland, Northwestern, and Purdue to advance to the championship of the Big Ten tournament.

The Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team drew an average home attendance of 15,560 in 17 games in 2023-24.
