The Tigers were led by first-year head coach Hugh Freeze,[1] and competed as members of the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

The Auburn Tigers football team drew an average home attendance of 88,043 in 2023.

The Tigers will travel to four SEC opponents: Arkansas, LSU (rivalry), Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.

The Tigers hosted three of the four non–conference games, against New Mexico State from CUSA, UMass, and Samford.
