This election saw the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats making some gains, but Labour retained its majority with 28 of the 41 seats on the council.

Gedling is one of the seven non-metropolitan districts that make up Nottinghamshire County Council.

The results were:[10] In October and November 2023, Russell Whiting and Des Gibbons left the Labour party to sit as independents.
