Ty Gibbs won the championship in 2022, but did not compete for a second consecutive title as he moved up to the Cup Series in 2023, driving full-time for Joe Gibbs Racing, replacing Kyle Busch.
At season's end, Cole Custer of Stewart–Haas Racing became the 2023 Xfinity Series champion.
