The Cardinals are led by fourth-year head coach Alvin Brooks and play their home games at the Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center in Beaumont, Texas.

As the fourth-seeded team, the Cardinals were 1–1 in the SLC tournament defeating eighth-seeded New Orleans 71–57[1] and losing to top-seeded McNeese 57–76 in the semifinal round.
