The Bulldogs, led by third-year head coach Chris Jans, play their home games at Humphrey Coliseum located near Starkville, Mississippi as a member of the Southeastern Conference.

They defeated LSU in the second round, and Tennessee in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament before losing to Auburn in the semifinals.

They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as the 8th seed in the west, where they lost in the first round to Michigan State.
