Incumbent Governor of Perm Krai Dmitry Makhonin is eligible to run for a second term in office.
Then-Federal Antimonopoly Service department head Dmitry Makhonin was appointed acting Governor of Perm Krai in February 2020, replacing first-term incumbent Maxim Reshetnikov, who was appointed Minister of Economic Development of Russia.
[1] Makhonin ran for a full term as an Independent with the support from United Russia[2] and won the election with 75.69% of the vote.
[4] In November 2023 Makhonin officially joined United Russia and became secretary of the party regional office.
Each candidate in order to be registered is required to collect at least 6% of signatures of members and heads of municipalities.
