Qualifying matches involving defending champion Judd Trump, reigning World Champion Kyren Wilson, the two highest‑ranked Chinese players (Ding Junhui and Zhang Anda), four Chinese wildcards, and Ronnie O'Sullivan are held over to be played at the main venue in Yushan.

The breakdown of prize money for the event is shown below:[5] On 20 December Barry Hawkins beat Cheung Ka Wai 5–1, Zak Surety whitewashed fourteenth seed Si Jiahui, and Chris Totten defeated Stuart Bingham 5–1.
