33rd World Science Fiction Convention

The 33rd World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon), also known as Aussiecon, or Aussiecon One, was held on 14–17 August 1975 at the Southern Cross Hotel in Melbourne, Australia.

Aussiecon was significant in the development of cohesive Australian activity around science fiction and fantasy fandom.

The World Science Fiction Society administers and presents the Hugo Awards,[1] the oldest and most noteworthy award for science fiction.

Categories include novels and short fiction, artwork, dramatic presentations, and various professional and fandom activities.
