[6] On 9 May 2024, the festival's organization unveiled the official poster for the 72nd edition; it features Donostia Award winner Cate Blanchett and it was designed by José Luis Lanzagorta based on a black and white photograph by Gustavo Papaleo.
[7][8] On 12 July 2024, the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain disclosed the 17 Spanish-produced titles which are to be part of the festival slate.
