Ațel (German: Hetzeldorf; Transylvanian Saxon: Hätselderf; Hungarian: Ecel) is a commune in Sibiu County, Transylvania, Romania.
It is composed of two villages, Ațel and Dupuș (Tobsdorf; Táblás).
The commune first appears in written history in 1283 as villa Echelini.
