[1] He was elected a member of the 4th National Assembly of Pakistan representing Dacca-VI.

[6] On 17 September 1971, during Bangladesh Liberation War, he was made Labor and Social Welfare Minister of East Pakistan.
He died on 4 December 1997 at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College, Dhaka.
