In March 2015, Warner Bros. announced that Bradley Cooper was in talks to make his directorial debut with A Star Is Born, the fourth iteration of the 1937 film of the same name.

A Star Is Born became Gaga's longest running number-one album in the US, while it was Cooper's first album to top the charts.
