Abel Ávila

Abel Ávila Rodríguez[a][1] (born 15 March 1977)[2] is a Paralympic athlete from Spain competing mainly in category T12 middle-distance events.

[3] Prior to the start of the London Games, he trained with several other visually impaired Spanish track and field athletes in Logroño.

[4] From the Catalan region of Spain,[3] he was a recipient a Plan ADO scholarship.

[5] Abel has competed in three summer Paralympics, his first in 2000 proving to be his most successful winning a silver in his only event the 800m.
