Acadie—Bathurst

Created at Confederation in 1867, the electoral district was known as Gloucester until a 1990 Act of Parliament renamed it to its current designation.

[3] After electoral boundary changes in 2003, residents argued that regional interests, particularly linguistic representation, were improperly diluted.

As per the 2012 federal electoral redistribution, this riding gained a small territory from what was part of Miramichi.

This riding has elected the following members of Parliament: Change for Progressive Conservative candidate Albany Robichaud from 1945 are based on his results running as an Independent.

The vote was designed to educate students and simulate the electoral process for persons who have not yet reached the legal majority.
