Acteon is a genus of small sea snails, predatory marine gastropod mollusks in the family Acteonidae, the barrel bubble snails.
[1] The genus is named after Acteon, a character in Greek mythology.
The shell is convoluted, ovate, cylindrical, generally transversely striated.
The aperture is elongated, often narrowed at its posterior part, widened and somewhat effuse at its base.
[2] In the genus Acteon, the individual teeth of the radula are very small.
