Actinoplanes

Actinoplanes is a genus in the family Micromonosporaceae.

Actinoplanes species produce the pharmaceutically important compounds valienamine (a precursor to the antidiabetic drug acarbose[2] and to the antibiotic validamycin), teicoplanin, and ramoplanin.
