[11] On 7 July 2019, Almqvist returned to Russia as a free agent, agreeing to a one-year KHL contract with Admiral Vladivostok.

[13] Splitting the 2022–23 season between Traktor Chelyabinsk of the KHL and EV Zug of the National League, Almqvist continued his European career by signing a one-year deal in the German DEL with EHC München on 21 July 2023.
