Addison Township, Michigan

[3] The Township was named for pioneer settler Addison Chamberlain.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 6,439 people, 2,174 households, and 1,752 families residing in the township.

There were 2,290 housing units at an average density of 63.2 per square mile (24.4/km2).

The racial makeup of the township was 97.10% White, 1.07% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.23% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.26% from other races, and 0.99% from two or more races.

14.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
