Al-Mughayyir, Jenin

This page is subject to the extended confirmed restriction related to the Arab-Israeli conflict.al-Mughayyir (Arabic: المُغير) is a Palestinian village in the West Bank, located 12 km Southeast of the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.

According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the village had a population of 2,240 inhabitants in mid-year 2006 and 3,249 by 2017.

[1][3] Al-Mughayyir was established by shepehrds from Deir Jarir and from Marj Ibn Amer, probably around the mid-19th century, around an old ruin.

[4] In 1882, the PEF's Survey of Western Palestine described the village as "a small place on a rocky hill top.

[11] In the wake of the 1948 Arab–Israeli War, and after the 1949 Armistice Agreements, Al-Mughayyir came under Jordanian rule.
