Alan P. F. Sell

An author in the fields of philosophy, theology, ethics and history he held prominent positions in various ecumenical organizations including the World Alliance of Reformed Churches.

[citation needed] He began his ministry with the United Reformed Church in 1959, commencing his pastorate in Westmorland and Worcestershire;[4] he was the minister in various Congregational Churches in England from 1959 to 1968 before being appointed a lecturer at the West Midlands College of Higher Education (1968-1983).

[5] From 1983 to 1987 Sell served as the Theological Secretary of the World Communion of Reformed Churches in Geneva, Switzerland.

[5] Sell took his PhD at the University of Nottingham (1967)[3] and was a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, the Royal Society of Antiquaries and was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree from the University of Manchester in recognition of his numerous published works and distinguished academic career.

[6] Sell lived in Milton Keynes in his later years[7] and he died in February 2016 in the Willen Hospice there.
