He was trained at the Royal Danish Ballet School, which follows the Bournonville method.
He was appointed soloist in 2010, and was promoted to principal dancer in April 2011 at the age of 21.
He left the RDB in 2018 and the ABT in 2019, and ended his dancing career following a knee injury.
