Albany Academy for Girls is an independent college-preparatory day school for girls in Albany, New York, United States, enrolling students from preschool (age 3) to grade 12.
Founded in 1814 by Ebenezer Foote as the Albany Female Academy, AAG is the oldest independent girls day school in the United States.
Both schools bring with them deeply treasured values of community, tradition and purpose to the newly formed institution known as The Albany Academies.
Single-gender education will continue under the present form in Lower and Middle Schools, while Upper School students may continue to cross-register for coed classes and certain extracurricular activities.
