Albert Henry Fullwood

Albert Henry Fullwood (15 March 1863 – 1 October 1930) was an Australian artist who made a significant contribution to art in Australia.

After graduation, he migrated to Sydney in 1883 and obtained work at John Sands Limited as a lithographic draughtsman and designer.

This period was a crucial time for the Heidelberg School, as it marked the peak of their plein air painting activities.

He would have known Australian-born artist and later, Slade School of Art Drawing teacher, Derwent Lees, as they, along with Arthur Streeton, exhibited at the same New English Art Club shows in London preceding the Great War, in particular the summer and winter shows of 1909 and 1910.

[3] Soon after World War I started, Fullwood joined the Allied Art Corps; later he was a sergeant in the Royal Army Medical Corps based at the 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, and later an Australian official war artist.
