[4] Individually through the years, Matović was a player development coach for many NBA players, such as Klay Thompson, Mychel Thompson, Goran Dragić, Zoran Dragić, Semih Erden, Sasha Vujačić, Andris Biedriņš, and Vladimir Radmanović.

[2] In summer 2017, Matović became an assistant coach for Partizan NIS under Miroslav Nikolić.

[7] On 13 December, he coached the Partizan team in a 83–67 loss to RETAbet Bilbao Basket.

[8] On the next day, Matović joined staff of Nenad Čanak who was hired as the new Partizan head coach.

[13][6] On 8 March 2021, Partizan NIS hired Matović as their new head coach for the rest of the 2020–21 season.
