Aleksander Kesküla

In 1905, he was a Bolshevik with the pseudonym Kivi[1] and endeavoured to create strife inside the Russian Empire and, according to Elisabeth Heresch, he was working alongside the Japanese spy's, Motojiro Akashi.

[3] In 1914-1915, he informed the German government about Lenin´s plans and intended to use Bolshevik agitation to replace the Russian empire with a number of national states.

Some earlier scholarship expressed skepticism,[4] but other research has indicated that between 200,000[1] - 500,000[5] German Reichsmark was passed to Lenin by Germany using Kesküla as a conduit.

According to Kesküla's approach, Estonia had originally belonged to the Nordic region, but as a result of the German conquest in the 13th century it was included in the alien Central European cultural space.

Kesküla thought that Estonia should separate from Russia and restore its place among the Nordic countries that were becoming increasingly unified.
