Alessandro D'Errico

He has spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See and was the Apostolic Nuncio to Libya and to Malta from 2017 to 2022.

Alessandro D'Errico was born in the Frattamaggiore comune of the Metropolitan City of Naples on 18 November 1950[1] to Alberto and Rosa née Vitale, the first of five children.

He then earned a degree in philosophy at the University of Naples and a licenciate in canon law at the Pontifical Lateran University, and a bachelor’s in theology at the San Luigi Papal Theological Seminary of Southern Italy.

[2] He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 5 March 1977[1] and filled positions in Thailand (1977-1981), Brazil (1981-1984), Greece (1984-1986), Italy (1987-1992), and Poland (1992-1998).

[2] On 14 November 1998, Pope John Paul II named him titular archbishop of Carini and Apostolic Nuncio to Pakistan.
