Alexandru cel Bun, Neamț

Alexandru cel Bun is a commune in Neamț County, Western Moldavia, Romania.

It lies on the banks of the Bistrița River, amid rolling hills.

It is crossed by national road DN15 [ro], which connects Piatra Neamț to Bicaz, 20 km (12 mi) to the west of Viișoara, and on to Târgu Mureș.

The Bistrița train station used to serve the CFR railway joining Bicaz to Bacău, but has been closed and left in disrepair.

It was dedicated in 1402, having as original ctitor the Moldavian Voivode Alexandru cel Bun, whose remains are buried here.
