Alick Isaacs

Alick Isaacs FRS[1] (17 July 1921 – 26 January 1967) was a Scottish virologist.

His parents moved to Wigan and then to the Gorbals area of Glasgow[2] where Isaacs was born.

[7] Isaacs was awarded honours and the Bellahouston Gold Medal for his research on the influenza virus.

[8] He was survived by his wife, Susanna Isaacs Elmhirst, a paediatric registrar, who later became a child psychiatrist.

[8] A collection of his laboratory notes is held at the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland.
