Almira Township, Michigan

As of the 2020 census, the township population was 3,873, making it the most-populous municipality in Benzie County.

The Platte River flows east to west through the township, originating in nearby Long Lake and flowing to Lake Michigan.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 2,811 people, 1,054 households, and 808 families residing in the township.

There were 1,320 housing units at an average density of 39.0 per square mile (15.1/km2).

17.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
