Alycaeus is a genus of small land snails with a gill and an operculum, terrestrial gastropod mollusks in the family Alycaeidae.
[1] (Original description) The operculum is horny with multiple whorls.
The body whorl is distorted and compressed and significantly contracted before the aperture.
[2] The protoconch sculpture is smooth to obliquely striated.
[3] There are nine recognized species of Alycaeus in Peninsular Malaysia.
