Anderson W. Atkinson (1923 – March 30, 1992) was a major general in the United States Air Force.
In 1960, Atkinson began working in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations of the Air Force.
That year, Atkinson also became Deputy Commander for Operations of the 15th Tactical Fighter Wing at MacDill Air Force Base.
Later, he was transferred to the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing at Da Nang Air Base, where he flew the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II.
After returning from overseas, Atkinson was stationed at Webb Air Force Base.
