Andrés Reséndez is a historian at the University of California, Davis.
In 2017, Reséndez won the Bancroft Prize in American History and Diplomacy for The Other Slavery: The Uncovered Story of Indian Enslavement in America.
[6] He received his Bachelor's degree in International relations at el Colegio de México in 1992 and worked in the Mexican government briefly around that time.
During his years as a graduate student, Reséndez served as a consultant for historical soap operas.
He is currently a professor in the Department of History at the University of California, Davis.
