Andraž nad Polzelo (pronounced [anˈdɾaːʃ nat ˈpoːu̯zɛlɔ]) is a settlement in the Municipality of Polzela in Slovenia.
It lies in the Ložnica Hills north of Polzela and south of Velenje.
The name was changed on the basis of the 1948 Law on Names of Settlements and Designations of Squares, Streets, and Buildings as part of efforts by Slovenia's postwar communist government to remove religious elements from toponyms.
[3][4][5] The local parish church, from which the settlement gets its name, is dedicated to Saint Andrew and belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Celje.
It is built on a small hill in the middle of the settlement and it served as a protective enclosure against Ottoman raids.
