In 2009, Duran made 14 appearances for the Bluejays and picked up his only point of the season on an assist against Eastern Illinois on October 11, 2009.
In 2011, Duran started all 24 matches at left center back and helped lead Creighton to a 21–2–1 regular season record.
[3] On January 12, 2012, Duran was drafted in the first round (15th overall) of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by Seattle Sounders FC.
[6] He made seven appearances during his stint with Atlanta before suffering a torn ACL which ruled him out for the rest of the season.
