Turgut Karataş (11 September 1963 – 15 December 2024), better known as Ankaralı Turgut, was a Turkish singer of Romani descent who was one of the oldest and most popular singers from the "Ankaralı" (English: Ankaran) school of Turkish folk music.
[1][2][3] Born in Ayaş on 11 September 1963,[4][5] he started his career in the early 1990s.
Karataş died from lung cancer at Ankara Etlik City Hospital, on 15 December 2024, at the age of 61.
