She returned to defend her title at the 2007 European Athletics U23 Championships, but ended the competition as runner-up behind her compatriot Linda Stahl.
Following a ninth-place finish at the 2011 German Championships, she declared herself retired from the sport, having failed to overcome a series of elbow injuries.
