Anomomorpha lecanorina

[1] Found in southern Ecuador, where it grows in montane forests at altitudes of 2,000–2,500 metres (6,600–8,200 ft), it was described as new to science in 2011.

The epithet lecanorina was chosen to reflect the resemblance of the ascocarps to the genus Lecanora, which is an unusual occurrence for the family Graphidaceae.

The type specimen was found in the Estación Científica San Francisco nature reserve in Zamora-Chinchipe Province, Ecuador.

[2] Anomomorpha lecanorina forms large, pale grey crustose patches, with a smooth upper surface that is delimited by a dark brown prothallus line.

[2] Anomomorpha lecanorina was originally described from three specimens collected from the Reserva Biológica San Francisco in the province of Zamora-Chinchipe, southern Ecuador.
