Antonio Alzona Aguto Jr.[1] (born November 18, 1966)[2] is a retired United States Army lieutenant general who served as the commander of Security Assistance Group–Ukraine (SAGU) from 2022 to 2024.
[9][10][11][12][13] Aguto is a 1988 graduate of the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering.
[10] Aguto has warned of the vulnerability of US precision guided weapons to electronic warfare, in the Russo-Ukrainian war.
[14] As of December 2023 Aguto is being dispatched to Ukraine to improve the quality of advice afforded Ukraine during the winter offensive,[15] because Ukrainian officials have asked their counterparts for more "face time with senior military officials".
