He had his 7th fight on 22 February 2017, where he challenged the vacant IBF Pan Pacific champion, Yuta Maruoka, a Japanese boxer, through a first round knockout.
On 23 August 2017, he won the vacant IBF Asia light-welterweight title by a unanimous decision over Adam Diu "Big Daddy" Abdulhamid, a Filipino challenger, at Suan Lum Night Bazaar Ratchadaphisek.

He lost his first fight on 26 September 2020, to Josh Taylor in the first round in unified WBA (Super), IBF, and The Ring light-welterweight bout at York Hall, London.
