Aquara

Aquara is a town and comune in the province of Salerno in the Campania region of south-western Italy.

The town, located on a hill in the middle of Cilento and part of its national park, lies below the Alburni mountains.

The municipality borders with Bellosguardo, Castel San Lorenzo, Castelcivita, Felitto, Ottati and Roccadaspide.

It counts the hamlet (frazione) of Mainardi[4] and the localities of Casalicchio, Madonna del Piano and Ponte Calore.

The last one is administratively shared with Castel San Lorenzo and located by the river Calore Lucano, that constitutes the western boundary of Aquara's municipal territory.
