Argyrops spinifer, the king soldierbream, Bowen snapper, long-spined red bream, longfin snapper, longspine seabream and red bokako, It is a species of marine ray-finned fish belonging to the family Sparidae.
[6] The genus Argyrops is placed in the family Sparidae within the order Spariformes by the 5th edition of Fishes of the World.
[2] Argyrops spinifer is found in the Indian Ocean but its exact distribution is difficult to determine as there are similar species and geographical forms.
