Arianne Caoili

Arianne Bo Caoili[1] (/ˈæriːɔːn kaʊˈiːliː/ kah-WEE-lee;[2] 22 December 1986 – 30 March 2020) was a Filipino and Australian chess player.

Outside of chess, she was a financial consultant and singer,[3] and served as an advisor to Armenian prime minister Karen Karapetyan.

[10] In 2009, she won the London Chess Classic Women's Invitational tournament with a score of 8/9, two points ahead of the runner-up.

[14] Her professional dance partner was Carmelo Pizzino and she finished as the series' runner-up behind Anthony Koutoufides.

[19][20] She spoke English and Tagalog fluently, and had studied for a Ph.D. at a German university on "Russian foreign policy, especially its economic and business relations with Armenia on a state and individual level".

[21] Caoili died on 30 March 2020 of injuries from a car crash into a bridge pillar in Yerevan, Armenia.
