Aristotle's catfish

Siluris aristotelis (Agassiz, 1857) [orth.

error] Aristotle's catfish (Silurus aristotelis) is a species of fish in the family Siluridae.

It is endemic to Greece, where it occurs in the Acheloos River drainage.

This species grows to a length of 46 centimetres (18 in) TL and is of importance to local commercial fisheries.

Its name derives from the fact that it was first described by Aristotle in his History of Animals.
