Armășești

Armășești is a commune located in Ialomița County, Muntenia, Romania.

Bărbulești was also one of its component villages until 2006, when it was split off to form a separate commune.

The commune is crossed by national road DN1D [ro], which connects Urziceni to Ploiești.

The Armășești train station serves the CFR Main Line 700, which connects Bucharest to Brăila, Galați and the border with Moldova at Giurgiulești, as well as Line 701, which starts in Urziceni and ends in Ploiești.

The school was built in 1883–1885 by Iordache Zossima, a landowner from Nenișori village, who also donated 350 ha (860 acres) of land and 100,000 lei to build a dorm and cover room and board for 240 students.
