Arrondissement of Montbrison

The arrondissement of Montbrison is located in the Loire department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.

[2] Its population is 185,892 (2021), and its area is 1,943.2 km2 (750.3 sq mi).

[4] In January 2017 it lost the commune Andrézieux-Bouthéon to the arrondissement of Saint-Étienne.

[5] As a result of the reorganisation of the cantons of France which came into effect in 2015, the borders of the cantons are no longer related to the borders of the arrondissements.
